Memorial Day boating hurt by gasoline prices at Clinton Perry lakes
Officials at Clinton and Perry lakes report busy Memorial Day camping and boating with 40 000 to 50 000 visitors expected at Clinton Lake. Higher gasoline prices near four dollars a gallon weigh on holiday travelers while some boaters cut trips or pool funds to share fuel costs. Park rangers note full campsites but variable boating traffic tied to storms.
