Killer Resume virus spreads via Outlook email
A new dangerous computer virus named Killer Resume is spreading through Microsoft Outlook. Anti virus industry sources and the FBI say corporate email systems have been infected or shut down. The virus arrives as a Word attachment named EXPLORER.DOC or RESUME.DOC with subject Resume Janet Simons and replicates by emailing all contacts. It deletes important files after the document is closed.

Guards jailed for inmate death at Nassau County jail
A federal judge sentenced two former Nassau County correction officers to 11 years each for the beating death of an inmate at the Nassau County Jail in East Meadow on Jan 8, 1999. The judge rejected murder claims but found heat of passion and provocation as factors. A third officer, former Cpl. Joseph Berger, got five years and three months for covering up the incident. In a separate item, Haitian rights activists denounced arrests of opposition figures after Aristide party win. At least 34 opposition figures were detained since the vote, including members of Space for Concord and Struggling People's Organization.

Student Fatally Shoots Teacher at Florida Middle School
A 13 year old seventh grader, Nathaniel Brazill, shot and killed his English teacher Barry Grunow at Lake Worth Community Middle School in Florida on the last day of classes. Suspects arrested in Wendy's killings on Long Island
New York police nabbed John Taylor 36 and Craig Godineaux 30 in separate arrests as they charge both men with multiple counts of first degree murder in one of the citys worst mass killings. Taylor implicated Godineaux after a 40 hour manhunt. The weapon, a .380 pistol, was found in Taylors waist pack. A surveillance tape from the Wendy's in Flushing was recovered. Taylor, a former Wendy's manager, had been sought by police for days amid the high profile case.
