City reviews five year capital improvement plan details
Lawrence city commissioners examined the 1993-1998 Capital Improvement Plan listing 64 projects with estimated costs over 73 million dollars. Priority includes a sewer line from Sixth and Kentucky to North Iowa and the Turnpike, plus water mains, storage tanks, and relief sewers as funding and grants allow.

Lawrence names Sam Shanmagen and Joe Baker to fill two vacancies on the 10 member Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission.
