Kansas Turnpike traffic up in April reports show gains
The Kansas Turnpike Authority released figures showing April passenger traffic rose 6.79 percent and commercial traffic up 2.12 percent, totaling a 5.83 percent monthly gain. For January–April 1975, passenger traffic rose 7.46 percent while commercial traffic fell 4.11 percent, yielding a 5.05 percent overall increase. Cherokee County led Kansas soybean production in 1974 with 1,858,200 bushels, followed by Crawford and Brown counties. A Kaw River fishing pair caught a 37-pound flathead with help from their husbands, the largest catch by the group.
