DETROIT The CIO United Auto Workers rejected Ford Motor Co offer to let 140000 workers buy stock at half price. The union plans emergency meeting and orders locals to prepare for possible strike action when the contract ends June 1. Ford called the plan the most comprehensive in auto history and the UAW calls it a watered-down GM proposal.

Two-Man Submarine Story From Central Park Lake
Dr Schwine and Dr Kitzenger built a Two-Man Submarine with Mrs Schwine as ballast. To fit, Kitzenger crouched underwater while Schwine and Mrs Schwine stacked above. On their first dive in Central Park Lake Mrs Schwine shot from the torpedo tube, sinking boats and forcing hours of recovery work.

The campanile features two door sets with themed plaques. One Kansas door presents Native, Explorer, Scout, Plainsman, Pioneer, Home maker on doors of Memories. The other door bears Freedom, Equality, Education, Investigation, Worship, Faith. Placed in Mexico City by Eugenio Ortiz after Fra zier refined the groupings. Local Girl Injured In Family Accident
Kathleen Kerns four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Kerns Route 5 suffered a serious cut on her arm this morning at the Kerns residence. Her father said she stumbled on an outside basement stairway and her arm went through a glass storm door. The injury is not serious enough to be disabling the attending physician said.
