Sudan rebels and government reach progress in Naivasha talks
In Kenya's Naivasha the Sudanese government and rebels agreed on key issues ending a 21 year civil war, though a comprehensive cease-fire remains to be settled. Soldier beaten at Guantanamo Bay during training incident
Spc. Sean Baker, a former military police soldier from Georgetown, said he was beaten by four U S soldiers during a training exercise at Guantanamo Bay after volunteering to act as an uncooperative prisoner. Authorities stress his medical discharge in April was not tied to the head injury. Baker served with the 438th Military Police Company which deployed to the base last year and was later treated at Walter Reed before discharge.
