Lacey Park Becomes Ghost Town Before Completion
Washington May 26 UPI Federal public housing authority officials said one of its finest developments, Lacey Park at Johnsville, Pa., became a ghost town before completion after the navy canceled its contract with Brewster Aeronautical. The five million dollar brick project has only about 160 families living there and 900 to 1,200 units vacant. The permanent construction was pursued over FPHA objections and at the navy’s insistence, which said it could not attract skilled workers to the aeronautical plant with temporary structures. No decision has been made on disposition of the development.
