Man pleads to lesser charges in infant abuse case
Marquis Young 28 faced one felony count of attempted first degree murder but pleaded no contest to two counts aggravated battery and abuse of a child after an infant stepdaughter was found in a dumpster at Country Club on Sixth Street. The July 7, 2016 incident left the child with skull fractures and extensive bruising.

Jackson convicted of traffic violation
Former University of Kansas basketball player Josh Jackson, 20, pleaded guilty in Lawrence Municipal Court to one misdemeanor count of striking an unattended object in a Tuesday hearing.
