Summerlin defeats Carter by decision after a 17 inning battle with Bob Satterfield of Chicago originally set to oppose him. It marks Summerlin's 30th win, his four losses and two draws. Linden, a 22 year old from Linden New Jersey, suffers his second defeat in 22 bouts.
Kansas City Athletics pull out of cellar with a 7 6 win over the Washington Senators in seven innings. Reliever Tom Gorman yielded one run in eight innings as the A’s clinched the victory on a late wild pitch. Detroit’s Johnny Summerlin defeated Harold Carter in a 10 round heavyweight bout at Olympia. Kansas fisheries officials announce a 15 inch walleye size limit replacing bass rules as most bass under 12 inches die when released.
