Summerslin Wins Tough 17 Inning Fight Victory

Summerlin defeats Carter by decision after a 17 inning battle with Bob Satterfield of Chicago originally set to oppose him. It marks Summerlin's 30th win, his four losses and two draws. Linden, a 22 year old from Linden New Jersey, suffers his second defeat in 22 bouts.

Kansas City Athletics pull out of cellar with a 7 6 win over the Washington Senators in seven innings. Reliever Tom Gorman yielded one run in eight innings as the A’s clinched the victory on a late wild pitch.
