Defendant to stand trial in death of disabled man
A 49 year old Eudora man Ronald Eugene Heskett was bound over for trial on a premeditated first degree murder charge in the Sept 11 2014 death of Vance Moulton a disabled Lawrence man. Prosecutors say Heskett asphyxiated Moulton by twisting a towel around his throat while Moulton’s home health care provider. Heskett claims the act was assisted suicide. A two day preliminary hearing previously found probable cause and judge Peggy Kittel ordered trial.
