Turnpike Crash Causes Two-Lane Backup Near Lecompton
A Kansas Turnpike accident in a construction zone near the Lecompton interchange tied up traffic for about an hour. A 1992 Pontiac driven by David Berger halted to yield to on ramp traffic, followed by a 1994 Dodge van driven by Randall Peterson. A semi driven by Grover Foster hit the van, pushing into Berger and injuring two passengers who were treated and released. The collision closed both lanes for nearly two miles. Authorities say the incident cleared after about an hour.
