Washington May 23 The senate blocked enactment of the Patman inflationary bonus bill by refusing to pass over President Roosevelt's veto. The override failed 54 to 40 though the house previously voted 222 to s to override. The vote exposed party lines as 11 Republicans joined 41 Democrats and one Farmer Laborist to sustain the veto while 28 Democrats and 12 Republicans backed the presidents action.

THREE HURT IN CRASH NEAR ABILENE KANSAS
Abilene Kansas May 23 Three persons were seriously injured and two slightly hurt in a two car crash at the intersection of highways 15 and 18 nine miles north of Abilene late yesterday. J B Taylor county agent of Clay county Kansas suffered back injuries and a slight concussion. His son and another boy were slightly hurt. Clifford Fells the driver of the other car sustained chest injuries and Miss Mary Copeland Clay Center who accompanied him fractured pelvis and back injuries. Taylor and Miss Crawford were taken to Clay Center by ambulance.
