Kansas bioscience agency to gain from budget shift
Kansas lawmakers approve 34 million in funding for the Kansas Bioscience Authority for next year. The plan moves 5 million from state reserves to bolster KBA operations while preserving funding from the tobacco settlement endowment only as a reserve source. Duane Cantrell, since taking CEO in 2012, received 150000 in bonuses for steering the agency through budget cuts and a shift to a market based venture capital model.
