Acid attacks target Miami abortion clinics after veto
Acrid liquid was poured at entrances of at least four Miami area abortion clinics. A woman was carried on a stretcher from one site. Fire officials identified butyric acid in four cases, a nauseating but non life threatening substance. In two instances the acid was poured through mail slots, part of a wave of vandalism following Governor Lawton Chiles veto of a choose life license plate.
