Andersons Kids Rule NHRA With Fast Family Rise
Shelly and Randy Anderson emerge as a record setting sibling duo in NHRA. Shelly, 31, is among few women to win in a pro category and set a then national speed mark. Randy, 32, rookie in Pro Funny Car, won Alcohol Funny Car titles in 1993 and 1994 and just claimed Fram Nationals in Atlanta. Their father Brad oversees team operations and mentoring, keeping drag racing a family affair as NHRA resumes at Heartland Park Topeka May 30 to June 1.

Traffic fix at Texas Motor Speedway as crowds grow
Fort Worth officials spend 4 million to ease traffic and parking for the 110 million dollar speedway, adding 52,600 parking spaces on 52 hundred acres and gravel aisles to improve access for up to 200,000 fans. Night races on June 6 and 7 test new layouts, with new shuttle lots to serve 39 buses at a time. Rusty Wallace criticized the area but officials say widening the turn won’t change racing, just help slower cars move low and be passed.
