Agee Honored By Minnesota for 1973 Achievement Award
Warren K. Agee former dean of the Kansas University School of Journalism receives the 1973 Outstanding Achievement Award at Minnesota University. He led KU from 1965 to 1969 and has held deanships at TCU West Virginia and Georgia University. He also served Sigma Delta Chi national officer and wrote for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He holds a BA from TCU and MA and PhD from Minnesota.

KU Essay Contest Winners Named in 1973 Memorial Event
The Office of Financial Aids announced three winners of the 1973 Hattie Elizabeth Lewis Memorial Essay Contest at Kansas University. Nine essays were submitted, judged by a committee led by Robert Shelton. Christine Hoefer won $50 for In Emulation of avid, Schmidt earned $50 for Friendship, and Kenneth Gale received $25 for Transcendence Truth and Value.

Two Women Drown In Rain Swollen Creek Near Carbondale
Two women from Carbondale were drowned when their car was swept into a rain swollen creek on U S 75 about four miles south of Carbondale. Noye Wording, 50, and Margaret Stevens, 61, were returning from Forbes Air Force Base Topeka. The accident occurred shortly after 11 p m and was not discovered until about 2 a m.

Roark V. Moody of Upland, 1962 Cal Poly Pomona graduate and Fleetwood Enterprises executive vice president, receives 1972 distinguished alumnus honors from the CSU Pomona Alumni Association. The May 11 ceremony at Via Verde Country Club coincided with a alumni reunion. Moody is active in helping graduates find positions in business through Fleetwood Homes and other ties. He is married to Beverly Ann with two daughters.
