Bonds Hits 713th Home Run in Philadelphia May 7
Barry Bonds tied Ruth with a 450 foot homer to reach 713 as his 16 year old son Nikolai, a Giants bat boy, waited at home plate. Tyler Snyder, a 19 year old from Pleasanton, caught the ball amid fan cheers and quickly exited the Coliseum. Bonds, DH for the Giants in the interleague clash with the A's, went 0-for-3 with an intentional walk and expressed pride that milestone occurred in the Bay Area. He noted past home run milestones and hinted his future may be as a DH in the American League.
