Judge to rule on trial for man accused of shooting dog
Douglas County man faces a single felony cruelty to animals charge after a preliminary hearing. Neighbors Jessica Graff and Andrew Surmeier testified that Arlo the Brittany spaniel was found dead outside their home after Herren admitted to shooting the dog to scare it away. Sheriff’s deputies testified Herren said he did not mean to kill Arlo. Judge Peggy Kittel will rule later if enough evidence exists for trial.
