Red Cross worker faces identity theft charges
Lonnetta Shanell Medcalf 20 of St Louis is charged with three counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of credit card fraud for using donor Social Security numbers to open cards and steal over $1000 from at least three victims. Indicted last month she worked five months at the Red Cross St Louis office. The Red Cross says access was broader than first thought, but the blood supply remained safe. The organization tightened security and launched a nationwide victim outreach including a toll free number through June 30.
