Panel to boost Kansas science research funding
U S Senator Pat Roberts launched a five to ten year plan with a 26 member Advisory Committee on Science Technology and the Future to attract more federal funds for Kansas universities and businesses. He cites Kansas per capita science funding well below national and neighboring states and envisions more military contracts and targeted projects at KU KSU and Wichita State. The panel will meet quarterly with an executive committee to build a clearinghouse style information network and guide efforts to raise the state’s research impact and job growth.
