An eight man four woman jury deliberated 5 hours 40 minutes in Oakland California for killing Trene Gilbert 33 a Topeka basket factory worker on January 4 during a pass from Fort Riley Kaw. The state said Anderson stabbed Gilbert after she resisted his advances then repeatedly ran over her body with a car. His attorney will seek a new trial and may appeal if the motion fails.
