Bowen Garment Protectors Turned Lawrence Teen Into Industrial Success
Lawrence youth Johnny Bowen started in a small cleaning and pressing shop and, after years of trial, built Bowen Garment Protectors into a booming business. He patented a two inch by seventeen inch curved protector, faced patent hurdles, and secured production via National Paper Box Company. Sales grew from a few orders to millions, with licenses in Canada and England and plans to expand internationally. Bowen now rests, builds a home near Lake of the Ozarks, and continues overseeing royalties and production.
