Unusual ship air plane undergoes first test at airport
An experimental short-cord monoplane owned by Ben Brown had its preliminary test at the airport today hampered by motor trouble and broken shock cords on the rear landing wheel. The craft, from W. E. Wells factory, features a 44 foot wingspan and 19 foot length with a midship engine and distinctive diamond wing tips. Test hops were attempted to gauge control and rigidity before full flights, with engine testing planned prior to further airborne trials.
