KPL may seek record rate increase in Kansas
Kansas Power and Light Co. may file the largest rate increase in Kansas Corporation Commission history. President William Wall said the request could be about 30 million dollars per year, roughly 25 percent, to fund about 551 million dollars in construction over five years including the Jeffrey Energy Center near Topeka. The utility serves more than 375,000 electric and gas customers.

Reuter Organ Co to Host Open House Sunday
Reuter Organ Co hosts an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday with tours of the main factory at 612 N.H and the Organ Pipe Department at Second and Lyons. Visitors can see organs under construction and a 100-year-old instrument being restored, with continuous keyboard performances. Parking available, enter through the main door. The firm, begun in 1917 in Illinois and moved to its current location in 1919, has built pipe organs for churches colleges and private homes worldwide. An organ for Bethany College at Lindsborg will be the largest in Kansas when completed.
