Funeral set for Gerald E. Craig 54 Baldwin resident
Gerald Edwin Craig 54 died suddenly at his home on Route 3 Baldwin Thursday morning. Services will be at 2 p m Saturday at First United Methodist Church Baldwin with burial in Oakwood Cemetery Baldwin. Memorials preferred to Oakwood Cemetery Assn. He was born November 17 1917 in Lawrence and lived in Douglas County all his life. He was a member of the American Legion Baldwin and Elks Lodge Lawrence. Survived by son Jerry Route 2 Baldwin two daughters Pansy Piper Gardner and Ruth Ingram Richmond California two brothers George Lawrence and John Anaheim California two sisters Mrs Lester Day Baldwin and Mrs Florence Morgan Oregon and five grandchildren.

Funeral services held for Maxine Baker Marshall in California
Funeral services for Maxine Baker Marshall were held in California with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles. She died Tuesday at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach. A former resident of DeSoto and Lawrence she once worked for Lawrence National Bank. Survivors include her widower Henry of Canoga Park and son James of Woodland Hills, and a brother Earl M. Baker of Everett.

Truck fire on U S 59 near Lawrence injures no one
Wakarusa Township Fire Department reports a truck fire on U S 59 about two miles south of Lawrence at 11 15 p m Thursday. The owner or operator was not learned. The vehicle apparently ran out of gas and the operator attempted to fuel the carburetor to restart it.
