Baldwin boys and girls win Paola regional track titles
Baldwin's boys and girls each captured the Class 4A regional titles in Paola. The girls scored 113 points to outpace Lansing, De Soto, and Perry Lecompton, while the boys tied Lewisburg at 65 points after a coin flip decided the trophy. Standout performances included Wade Allen in javelin, Mike Hess in 110 hurdles, Jenny Cook leading the girls with four wins, and Audrey Millstein setting a long jump school record. The Bulldogs will send multiple athletes to the state meet in Wichita following a strong regional showing.

Five Cardinals head to state as Wellsville sweeps 3A meet
Wellsville dominated the 3A regional track meet, winning both boys and girls titles. The Wellsville boys scored 103 to Effingham’s 78, while the Wellsville girls edged Pleasant Ridge 66 to 64. Eudora showed little in field events while Allison Rose set a school record in the 400 meters but finished second. Five Eudora athletes qualified for state, joining Oskaloosa runners in top finishes.

McLouth boys claim 2A regional track title on Friday
McLouth topped Lyndon 89-69 to win the Class 2A boys regional title as Rossville star Luke Pickett swept four events including long and triple jumps and the 200. Ray Phillips added two golds in the 1600 and 3200, with Nathan Gardner taking the 100. Kesinger and Buerman earned state berths with thirds in the 100 and 1600. McLouth girls finished fourth with 58 points, led by Sara Edmonds and Candace Hochard 1-2 in the 1600 and Hochard winning the 3200. Angie Chase qualified in the 400 and the 4 x 400 relay qualified with Howhard, Edmonds, Chase and Amber Walker.
