County buys equipment for park
Douglas County Commission approves a 6963 dollar purchase of Broken Arrow Park playground equipment from Miracle Recreation to replace the rocket and slide. The rocket sells to Jerry Cole for 410 dollars and will be moved to Lake Dabinawa. New equipment will have two slides and two climbing spots and be shorter than the 27 foot rocket. Also approved are three dump trucks with spreaders and radios for 216500 dollars. Health insurance deductible may rise from 250 to 400 with report due Wednesday.

A 20-year-old Lawrence man was shot in the ankle during a Saturday night fight with his 17-year-old brother-in-law at Green Acres Mobile Home Court.
