TOPEKA Legal technicalities delay the filing of an appeal to the Kansas Supreme Court in the liquor price fixing case. ABC attorney William B. Kirkpatrick said the agency is ready to appeal Shawnee County District Judge Beryl Johnson's May 7 ruling. The judge granted a stay pending the appeal but denied a post judgment modification sought by ABC to keep Board of Review price control authority.

Junior Olympic Tryouts Attract 130 Youngsters
More than 130 youngsters joined the city Junior Olympic program at Lawrence High School this morning. Winners receive ribbons and may compete in the state Junior Olympics June 8-9 at Kansas University. Junior high athletes qualified earlier this week. The meet, run by the Lawrence Recreation Commission, used Bantam Midget and Junior divisions for ages 8 to 13 and two junior and intermediate divisions for junior high.

Kansas Colonel Named To Normandy Monument Site Panel
Col. W. Keith Weltmer of Lawrence president of the Kansas National Guard Association was chosen for the panel selecting a monument site at American Battlefield Cemetery near Caen France.
