School nurses could save Kansas millions by preventing failures
Dean F J Kelly of the University of Kansas argues that late-year failures cost the state about 1.91 million yearly as children repeat grades. He proposes county school nurses at 2000 annually and targeted teachers for backward pupils, totaling 868800 yearly, to prevent losses and improve outcomes.
