Atlantis Grabs Hubble For Five Day Spacewalk Mission
NASA officials guided Atlantis to attach the Hubble Space Telescope in a 350 mile orbit above Earth. Astronauts will perform dangerous repairs over five days including replacing a camera and a data-handling unit. Debris from a 2007 Chinese test prompted minor concern but did not threaten the shuttle. The crew expects to extend Hubble’s life by 5 to 10 years with upgrades.
