Lawrence Airport to Host Anniversary Party and Flight Displays
Public invited to celebrate Lawrence Municipal Airport as Aviation Advisory Board marks its October 1929 dedication with a Saturday anniversary party. The event features a balloon launch, RC airplane flag drop, hangar displays including KU aerospace flight simulator, Wings for Wishes fundraiser, 30 minute sightseeing flights, antique Beech Staggerwing rides, and a paper airplane contest for all ages. Proceeds support Make a Wish Kansas Chapter via Chi Omega, with many activities running 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and displays open until 2 p.m.
