Ford to Referee 500 Mile Race at Indianapolis

Hyatt Hearing Postponed in Gambling Case

Senate oil committee ends hearings on naval oil leases
Washington May 14 The senate oil committee tentatively closed its hearing on naval oil leases begun last October. Adjournment came at the chair’s call. Senator Walsh said no further witnesses would be called unless the courts compel Harry F Sinclair to answer. Senator Spencer hinted at possible later testimony to be added to the record. The committee may recess pending Sinclair contempt case in the district of Columbia courts. Most information gathered has been turned over to government lawyers. Work Begins on the National Guard Camp Near Riley
Topeka Kan May 414 Construction begun today on the Kansas National guard camp at Fort Riley. Adjutant General H Neil Rahn says 47000 will be spent this year. When complete the outlay reaches 70000. The Minkout National guard encamps July 13 on the old camber site three miles west of Fort Riley station and will later hold Missouri and Kansas encampments on the new site a mile east.
