Funds raised as KU fraternity hosts first step show
About 60 children danced at Central Junior High School to support the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence. Pinckney School won the trophy with New York School taking second while the Boys and Girls Club team placed third. The KU chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi donated 200 dollars with an additional 150 dollars raised from donations. The event comes as the club faces a budget drop next fall due to grant depletion, prompting staff and volunteers to seek further fundraising and cuts to preserve nine after school programs serving 800 to 900 students.
