Fire destroys Sutton barn east of Clinton amid tragedy
A large barn on the Jess Sutton place, rented by the Dowdell children whose parents died about a year ago, burned shortly after 10 last night. Four hundred bushels of corn, harness, and two calves were lost. twelve cattle and a team of mules were saved. The fire’s cause is undetermined though reported to have started in the loft. the sheriff investigated with no clear answer.
