Legislature urges veto of deficit tax cut to protect schools
Senate leader Morris and House and Senate Democrats call on Gov Brownback to veto the tax cut, saying it would produce deficits of 242 to 304 million next year and 2.5 to 3 billion by 2018. They warn it favors the wealthy and harms schools, disability programs, and highway funding. Brownback defends growth and says he will sign the larger bill if needed.
