Nearly 1 000 delegates to the National Iris Convention will tour the iris garden of Mrs. Charles Miller near Tonga on Thursday and Friday. The garden hosts 400 specimen plants with irises from New Zealand, Holland and Canada, plus diverse trees and shrubs. Following the convention, a Miller Garden Tour will run May 40 to 27, with open daily 9 am to 5 pm and tickets 50 cents from Mrs. George L. Waters or at the garden.

Four Hurt in Lone Star Lake Car Crash
About 12:30 a.m. four people were injured in a one car crash at Lone Star Lake 12 miles southwest of Lawrence. Driver Richard E. Black 21 and passengers William Lawrence youth Leslie Freeze 20 and Sandra Robinson 21 sustained various injuries. Miss Robinson and Miss Freeze were taken to Watkins Memorial Hospital. The Undersheriff said Black missed a curve and struck the bridge near the lake spillway. Car damage was about 800 dollars.
