Kansas law requires children ages four to seven to ride in a booster seat unless the child weighs more than eighty pounds or stands taller than four feet nine inches or if only a lap belt is available. Douglas County Commission will hear public input on the Northeast Sector plan to add a policy guide for future development in about 10 640 acres north and east of Riverfront Park and tied to Grant Township and Lawrence Municipal Airport. Douglas Bittinger, 20, of Lawrence, pleaded no contest to two aggravated battery counts tied to a Sept. 6 robbery at The Exchange on Ousdahl Road. A head on collision on Kansas Highway 4 northwest of Perry Lake killed a 20 year old Holton woman and a 42 year old Valley Falls woman. Two others were treated and released after a 31st Street wreck near the Baker Wetlands. A one vehicle crash near Baldwin City left Claude Chappelle injured and LifeStar airlifted to KU Hospital with alcohol and inattentive driving listed as factors.
