A U S military four jet transport crashed in rain near Clark Field Philippines killing 73 of 83 aboard and injuring two in a taxi. The plane operated by MATS had departed Travis Air Force Base California via Hickam Hawaii and Clark was the Manila area relay base for South Viet Nam support.
