Envoy walks out of League meet over Ethiopia
Geneva May 11 Baron Pompeo Aloisi Italy envoy to Geneva walked from the League council session when discussion of the Italo Ethiopian issue arose. He said Italy cannot discuss in the presence of the Ethiopian delegate and left with his delegation. Haile Selassie protested Mussolini's conquest and urged League action while Aloisi asserted Ethiopia’s sovereignty is non-existent and withdrew. The council adjourned after a brief public session with no yes or no on Ethiopia. Wolde Mariam, Ethiopia's envoy, insisted on invitation to all Ethiopian topic sessions.
