Ex LHS principal to be superintendent of Winfield schools
William Medley, former Lawrence High School principal, will lead Winfield schools starting 1981-82. A 53 year old Caldwell native, he led LHS from 1965 to 1972 and then became Concord High principal in Wilmington, Delaware, where he has served since. He earned a physical education bachelor's at Southwestern College of Winfield and a master's in education at Emporia State, with 14 prior years in the Winfield district as teacher, counselor and high school principal. In Marion Township, 18 of 342 voters approved renewing the 5 mill rock levy for two years, a 17-1 margin, funding the 1982 road budget. County clerk Patty Jaimes said April voting was skipped awaiting readiness of township officials.
