Power Loss From Crash Breaks Utility Pole North Of Lawrence
A car driven by Richard J. Barr 21 struck a Kansas Power and Light Co pole three miles northwest of Lawrence on a county road causing outages in Douglas County. The transformer pole broke three feet from the ground and power was restored after repairs began. Barr and passenger Dan Casson 23 suffered bumps and bruises. Damage to Barrs car estimated at 500 dollars. A second crash at 17th and Ind St involved a 1951 car owned by Dale Fdsen Guy 39 demolished. Guy injured and Reese 40 suffered damage to his car estimated at 70 dollars.

Lawrence resident Mrs Narcissus Carter died this morning in a Topeka hospital after thirty years in the city. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday with Bowser Lee Mortuary in charge. Survivors include daughter Mrs Lucille Hopkins of 831 North Y Street and three sons Harry Carter of St Joseph Missouri Dennis Carter and Herbert Carter of Leavenworth.
