The Ware House Arts District in Lawrence, nearly two years old, aims to broaden recognition through live music and art for sale. Promoter Tom Larkin seeks new ways to attract visitors, with trucks offering local food along the streets.
The Kansas Food Truck Festival will run 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Warehouse Arts District near Eighth and Pennsylvania. Tickets are 12 dollars, 10 with a canned food item, and free for kids under 12. Five trucks from Kansas City and Lawrence will participate along with three bands and jazz performances, plus artwork by local artists. Proceeds support Just Food with two hour volunteer shifts available.
