Misa Jarvis, a bedridden patient at a private sanitarium, fondly recalls founding Mother's Day 40 years ago in honor of her mother. She has limited visitors due to illness, but received letters and a White House greeting. Her idea began from a May 1907 gathering and grew nationwide after a 1914 presidential order.

Dr. Harvey B. Kibler an Eudora agent and former Lawrence dentist died in Research hospital Kansas City after about two years illness. Funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple with Vermilion burial. Born December 8 1873 in Hutsonville he practiced in Frankfort and Lawrence before retiring to a farm in Eudora. Survived by wife Helles Kibler a daughter and a stepdaughter four grandchildren and four sisters.
