London May 8 Promoter Brig Gen A C Critchley announced all obstacles to the Henry Armstrong Cecil Roderick welterweight title fight have been removed and the bout is set for May 25 at Marringay arena. Mike Jacobs of the Twentieth Century Sporting Club wired that if Roderick wins he will fight two non title bouts in Britain and defend the crown in the United States within six months. Jacobs also has an option on Armstrong. Both fighters spoke at a luncheon with Armstrong saying his hand has improved and he expects to KO Roderick in six rounds.

Mrs. T. J. Gardner, 34, wife of Fowler News publisher and Southwest Kansas Editorial association president, died this morning in a Garden City hospital after a month of treatment for an infection. Army unit to stage anti aircraft show at Haskell stadium
The 61st Coast Artillery from Fort Sheridan arrives in Lawrence and sets up east of Haskell stadium.
