Rural areas near tornado lack siren coverage in Sedgwick County
Sedgwick County officials say rural residents near the EF-3 tornado that hit last week may not have heard sirens. The storm tracked about 13 miles through rural areas including Gyp Sum Township outside Wichita, injuring three. Officials explain sirens target outdoor areas and are placed near venues like schools and parks.
