Hunter Education Compliance Rules Tighten In Kansas
Kansas Wildlife and Parks will boost hunter education enforcement with more spot checks after fall seasons. They will verify education numbers on licenses and issue citations for missing or invalid numbers. Secretary Steve Williams cited a 1998 sample showing high compliance among residents and both residents and nonresidents. Anyone born after July 1, 1957 must complete a certified course before buying a license, unless they hunt on land they own, and those under 27 must carry an approved card while hunting. Williams warned that odds of being caught are rising.
