Exhibit chronicles the former EU professor Roger Shimomura and his prints and drawings. The catalog documents more than 136 works on paper, funded by Marilyn J. Stokstad Publications Fund, with a companion exhibition opening today at the museum.
The Spencer Museum of Art hosts Roger Shimomura prints donated by the artist. A Sansei born in 1939, Shimomura’s work reflects wartime internment, U S Army service, and Midwest impressions from KU and Lawrence. He plans ongoing studio work and continued scholarly collaboration with Stamey and Paget.
The International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro Kentucky unveiled Radio Bluegrass International an Internet station. RBI will stream foreign and archived bluegrass shows in original languages with plans to tailor programming by time zones and add languages while building archives from 2 000 to 3 000 tunes and a 40 year Bill Vernon collection for use by listeners worldwide.
