GOP Pension Diversion Sparks Kansas Campaigns
Democrats plan to use Gov Graves 26.4 million reallocation from the death and disability fund of KPERS against Republicans in the upcoming legislative races. Kansas Democratic Party Chairman Tom Sawyer and Kansas Association of Public Employees say the move harms retirees and shifts money from benefits to general programs. Republicans defend the plan, saying KPERS remains funded and that pension payments come from a separate fund.
