Measure would give cities more say on sprinkler backflow
Lawmakers push a bill to let cities choose backflow devices for lawn sprinkler systems, challenging a KDHE rule for above ground units. The measure, sent to Gov. Finney, includes a bonding clause to access federal funds for local water upgrades and may stave off a veto. Local homeowners favor underground valves for cost and safety.
