Emory researchers propose urine protein marker for early cancer detection
Emory University doctors report a urinary protein EDC1 found in high amounts in most cancer patients may allow a simple inexpensive test to detect early cancer, especially breast cancer. Study compared 38 breast cancer patients with 37 healthy controls and 90 non cancer patients, finding average 98 mg daily in cancer cases versus 7 to 14 mg in others.
